Objecticves
- to promote legal awareness throughout the State of Bihar
- to provide pro bono legal aid to those in need.
- to inculcate social responsibility which will lead to the realization of goals embodied in the Constitution of India
- to make the students realize their professional responsibility towards the marginalised and the disadvantaged
- to associate with other institutions in realising the goals of Art. 39-A of the Constitution of India
LEGAL AID CELL
- Kautilya Society–
The Kautilya Society, is a student-driven initiative conceptualised by Vidhi Centre for legal policy which functions in collaboration with Legal Aid Cell, CNLU fostering legal research, policy debates, and leadership development. It bridges academia and real-world governance challenges, empowering future lawyers to engage with contemporary legal reforms and strategic policymaking.
- Awareness & Outreach–
The Awareness & Outreach team aims to empower underprivileged communities through legal literacy camps, workshops, and collaborations with NGOs. It ensures justice reaches the most vulnerable through proactive intervention and advocacy.
- Client Counselling–
The Client Counselling team provides free legal assistance to underprivileged communities through a dedicated team of lawyers and student volunteers. In collaboration with Nyaaya, we offer comprehensive legal support to ensure equitable access to justice for underserved populations. The Samvidhaan fellowship of Nyaaya provides good number of advocates who practice in several districts of Bihar. This is where the teach and taught work together in the work clinic( The CNLU Legal Aid Cell); the theory and the practice meet.
- Events & Administration-
Events & Administration team is the behind-the-scenes heroes who make every legal camp, conference, and workshop happen! From booking venues to managing supplies, our team works tirelessly to create meaningful experiences.
- Social Media-
The Social Media Team strategically develops and manages the Legal Aid Cell’s comprehensive digital presence across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent branding while maximizing public engagement with our legal awareness initiatives.

The Legal Aid Cell, CNLU, maintains strategic partnerships with esteemed institutions, including the Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA), the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, IDIA, Kautilya Society and various NGOs. These collaborations strengthen our capacity to deliver effective legal assistance and amplify our outreach to marginalised communities.
