The CNLU Library stands at the heart of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, serving as a beacon of knowledge and academic excellence. Established in 2006 alongside the inception of the University at the A. N. Sinha Institute campus, the library has grown into a pivotal resource centre acts as a major instrument by providing a variety of information services to the university community. In August 2010, when the University transitioned to its permanent campus, the library was relocated to its present address “Nishant Nilayam”, a name that poetically signifies “the place where darkness ends.”

Spread across an expansive 16,356.84 sq. ft. area on the ground floor of a grand three-storeyed structure, the CNLU Library is a sprawling, air-conditioned space, thoughtfully designed for comfort and learning. It is equipped with modern amenities including Wi-Fi, CCTV surveillance, and remote access services, making it accessible and secure for all users.

Nishant Nilayam is systematically divided into four dedicated sections, namely the Textbook Section, Reference Section, Journal Section, and Reading Section. In addition to these, there is a designated central hall for light reading materials. The library houses a rich and growing collection of legal and interdisciplinary literature, curated to support cutting-edge research, effective teaching, and academic development. In a remarkably short span, it has evolved into a comprehensive repository of both print and digital resources, playing a vital role in advancing CNLU’s mission of delivering quality legal education.

Staying true to its vision, the CNLU Library functions as the intellectual and academic nucleus of the University, offering inclusive information services that cater to the diverse scholarly needs of students, faculty, and researchers alike. The Library remains committed to its mission to empower the university community through seamless access to knowledge and to serve as a catalyst in the pursuit of academic and legal excellence.
